Ryanair – history
It will probably come as no surprise to anyone that Ryanair airlines are the largest low-cost airlines in Europe. Their popularity is growing every year, and customers appreciate the possibility of cheap travel.
Ryanair was established decades ago, in 1985 to be exact. Its founders were Tony Ryan, actually Thomas Anthony Ryan – an Irish businessman and multimillionaire – and his children. Later that year (i.e. 1985), the first route between Waterford and London-Gatwick was launched, and in the following years – the route network was significantly expanded. 1400 routes are really impressive. In Poland, Ryanair appeared in 2005, and its inaugural flight was on the route Wroclaw Mikolaj Kopernik Airport – London-Stansted Airport. It is also important to note that the carrier boasts a relatively young and very green fleet.
